Matt is a Canadian event rider based out of Stonecrest Stables (Ottawa, ON) and Ocala, FL. Although Matt is well known for his tact and ability when dealing with young or difficult horses, he also aims to produce event horses for competition and sale. His focus when working with the horses and riders in his program is developing correct basics on the flat and confidence over fences. Matt believes that this helps ensure success as both horses and students move up the levels.

Matt currently has one horse he is actively competing: Fuzion (“Max”) began his eventing career with great success in 2014 and is preparing to upgrade to the preliminary level in 2016. Matt sold his 2* horse (Iceman/”Sonny”) mid-summer and Sonny has already proven to be an excellent schoolmaster.

In addition to training and competing his own horses, Matt also accepts horses on training board, is available for coaching in the Ottawa area, offers quality horses for sale and also competes horses on a “catch-ride” basis.
